Questions this guide answers

How many leads do I need to hit my ARR target?

Divide the ARR target by average revenue per customer, then by your sales and lead conversion rates. In the guide's example, $10M ÷ $50K = 200 customers. At 15% sales conversion that is 1,334 qualified leads, and at 30% lead conversion about 4,450 leads.

How much pipeline coverage do I need?

At least 3× the ARR target as a buffer for lost deals, with 4 to 5× recommended. The right multiple depends on win rate and cycle length, roughly 1 divided by your win rate.

How much do companies spend on marketing?

Gartner's 2026 CMO Spend Survey puts it at 7.8% of company revenue. Paid media, labor and martech take 31%, 25% and 19% of the budget.

What is the viral coefficient?

k equals average referrals per customer times the referral conversion rate. In the guide's example, 5 referrals at 25% conversion gives k = 1.25. Above 1, each cycle grows the user base on its own.

Which marketing channels have the best ROI?

The guide rates thought leadership and SEO, public speaking, webinars, paid social and podcasts as high ROI. PPC and SEM, trade shows and direct mail rate low.
